Online Therapy

Enjoy the convenience of confidential and secure online therapy from anywhere in California or Washington.

Online Therapy Considerations

Benefits may include:

  • Increased accessibility and convenience in attending sessions; as long as you join from a quiet and confidential space within the state of California, you are good to go.

  • Less time, money, and overall stress spent commuting to in-person sessions.

  • Greater flexibility in appointment availability and scheduling, and less time waiting if a one-off or last-minute session is ever needed.

Limitations may include:

  • Having to navigate potential technology or connectivity issues including occasionally having to repeat things said due to delay in connection.

  • Less visibility into overall non-verbal communication and body language cues.

  • Having to attend to or manage possible unplanned disturbances that arise in the environment from which you’re joining session.

Online Therapy FAQs

  • Deciding between online therapy and in-person therapy is a personal decision and generally comes down to what you’re comfortable with and what you can commit to from an accessibility standpoint.

Some clients prefer face-to-face in-person communication and the separateness that in-person sessions can create from their daily lives, while others love the flexibility and convenience that online therapy provides. Often clients may initially set out seeking in-person sessions, and after a trial run find that they actually prefer attending online therapy sessions from the comfort of their own home. Others find that it is difficult to commit to weekly in-person therapy sessions, and transition to online therapy sessions for the ease of scheduling and accessibility.

Ultimately my first priority is that you are comfortable, that your therapeutic needs are being met, and that whichever arrangement you sign up for allows you to consistently attend your scheduled sessions. I am a big advocate for open and transparent communication, and always ask my clients to communicate any reservations or potential blocks that may interfere in the course of your successful treatment, whether sessions take place in-person or online.

All this and more can be discussed during a scheduled consultation call to ensure that we find the best fit for your therapeutic needs.

  • Because I only offer San Diego in-person therapy sessions on Tuesdays, a limited number of spots are available. Currently I can only guarantee and provide San Diego in-person therapy sessions if you can commit to weekly in-person attendance; my in-person therapy attendance policy asks that you not miss more than one in-person therapy session a month, or miss one in-person therapy session three months in a row. If this does occur over the course of your treatment, I will discuss with you the appropriateness of meeting in-person and whether or not online therapy sessions might be a better fit. This allows me to accommodate others waiting on my San Diego in-person therapy session waitlist.

If you're interested in meeting in-person in San Diego and I currently have a waitlist, please note a space usually opens up within 1-2 months, during which time you'll have the option to attend online therapy sessions.
